We loved staying at the Wanderer! We were greeted with a cocktail, fresh baked cookies and a run down of all of the amenities. The cottages are beautiful and are perfect for a getaway with your partner. Everything is close by, even a fantastic sandwich shop across the street. It was a lovely experience and we highly recommend booking here!

We had the most wonderful stay at Wanderer Cottages in Maine! From the moment we arrived, Mark and his incredibly friendly staff made us feel right at home. Everyone we met was kind, accommodating, and clearly took so much pride in making sure each guest has a top-notch experience. The property is absolutely beautiful—just like the pictures, if not even better in person! Every corner of the space has been thoughtfully designed, from the charming decor to the little details that really elevate the experience. It’s clear that a lot of love and care went into creating this peaceful retreat. Our cottage was cozy, quiet, and incredibly private—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Housekeeping keeps everything spotless, and we were so impressed by how clean and well-maintained everything was. Each morning, we loved waking up to a complimentary breakfast delivered right to our door—such a thoughtful and convenient touch. The cruiser bikes available for guests were perfect for exploring the area, and the quiet, relaxing pool quickly became one of our favorite places to unwind during the day. One of our favorite touches was the complimentary s’mores kit and the lovely fire pit area. Sitting under the stars, roasting marshmallows, and soaking in the serene atmosphere was such a memorable part of our trip. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it—and were completely surprised and touched when we returned to our cottage one day to find a complimentary bottle of wine and a beautiful platter of treats, just because the staff is that wonderful. The location couldn’t be better—just a short walk or drive to the beach and close to town, yet tucked away enough to feel like a true escape. If you’re looking for a peaceful, beautiful, and welcoming place to stay in Maine, Wanderer Cottages is it. We’re already dreaming of coming back!

Cannot say enough great things about Mark’s team and property at the Wanderer Cottages! Perfect spot for our anniversary getaway. Very short car ride or pleasant bike ride from downtown and the beaches. Bikes, beach chairs, umbrellas and more can be used for no charge and taken off property. Every team member was so kind and accommodating. The bocce and cornhole courts near the pool are such a fun touch. Very relaxing and serene. Noise from the road is not at all as bad as another reviewer mentioned. Can’t wait to come back!

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay at Wanderer. Cottage #10 was everything we wanted and our hosts were lovely. If you want easy access to downtown without throngs of tourists outside your front door, then this is where you want to stay. Room was decorated with a elegant nautical theme and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. The daily breakfast delivered to our porch every morning was always delicious and well balanced. If you’re headed to Kennebunkport stay here. You won’t be disappointed!

This place is fantastic. Super private little oasis without needing to deal with neighbor noise. The grounds are beautiful and lots of amenities and activities. Bennett’s across the street has the best lobster roll I’ve ever had (I’ve been going all over Maine for 40 years). Location wise — walking/biking distance to downtown, multiple beaches, hiking trails and more. It’s a wonderful place.

Spent two nights @ the Wanderer while visiting Kennebunk on our way up to Acadia. Quaint & cozy. The cottages are very sweet but small inside (I have a one bedroom apartment in NYC so am accustomed to small spaces - but this interior did not even have any sort of closet and was a bit tough to navigate with a large luggage). The bagged breakfast was a nice touch each morning. Loved the bikes - quick ride down to the beach and into town. Available beach chairs also very convenient. You will need to drive or bike into Kennebunk proper for restaurants / shops. Overall, enjoyed our stay and proximity to the beach - I ran (~1 mile each way) to the beach and back from the cottages which was a great activity. Would consider staying here again on our next visit - biggest hesitations are size of cottage interiors and I would potentially want to stay within walking distance from town.

Truly one of the best places I have ever stayed while traveling. You can tell things are well thought through here. Upon arrival a welcome drink, & cookies, we were well informed on the amenities offered. From the breakfast bags in the morning (juices, pastries, fruit/yogurt, cheese). The pool was adorable (heated!) the nightly fire pit (smokeless) and bags. Everything was spotless here and the beds were SO comfy. The location was perfect for us. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to come to the Kennebunk area and if back we will DEFINITELY return!
